Noli de Castro gets to know the decade-old story of Angelito Gino-gino or ‘Lolo Pops’, the viral elderly candy vendor from Angeles, Pampanga this Sunday (August 7) in “KBYN: Kaagapay ng Bayan.”

Despite Lolo Pops’ old age, he continues to sell candies to provide for his family, especially for his wife who suffered a stroke back in 2011. After pausing his ‘paglalako’ due to the pandemic, Lolo Pops is back in business as he currently sells pastillas and polvoron using his pedicab. And with the help of his daughter, his sweets are now available for purchase online. Because of his business, he managed to build a house for his family.

Kabayan also travels to Real, Quezon to meet Julio Resumen, a laborer who continues to work in his hometown even with his worsening eyesight. The KBYN team takes Julio to an eye specialist to find a possible cure for his ailment.

Meanwhile, the veteran journalist also discovers ornamental fish breeding from hobbyists Mike Go and Rainard Yu. Mike breeds rare gold fishes, which are valued at P10,000, in his farm in Guagua, Pampanga and enters his pets in ornamental fish competitions. Like Mike, Rainard also breeds guppies and sells them to local and international buyers.
