Adriann Delmo and Jireh Villafuerte, both Filipino artists, won the recent Morbius fan art global competition announced by Columbia Pictures on February 19.

Delmo and Villafuerte (also known as Kyouzins) were among the five winners of the aforementioned art competition. Delmo and Villafuerte will each receive a hundred thousand pesos.

The other winners are Adhitya Maheswara and Tsagif Baihagi from Indonesia, as well as Pavan Chavan from India.

Delmo and Villafuerte were chosen by Jared Leto, who plays Dr. Michael Morbius, because their entries seized the essence of the new Marvel legend.

The winning fan art could be used on physical posters or as digital art to promote the film. Morbius, the hero and villain, is regarded as one of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters as he possesses vampiric skill sets.

Daniel Espinosa directs the film. The story was written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, and the screenplay was written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, as well as Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, based on Marvel Comics.

It also stars Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson in addition to Leto.

On March 30, Morbius will be shown exclusively in Philippine theaters. Columbia Pictures, the local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International, will distribute it.
