The Antique Provincial Youth and Development Office (PYDO) is targeting to release the educational assistance of 22,340 undergraduate student beneficiaries in the province before the start of the election ban on March 25.

Antique provincial government PYDO head Irish Manlapaz said in an interview Friday they have started to release the educational assistance of PHP5,000 each to 1,000 students who are residents of San Jose de Buenavista on February 14.

“There were 22,340 students who had applied for the educational assistance of the provincial government for the first semester this 2021-2022 school year,” she said.

They are currently preparing to release cash assistance to another 1,000 students in Sibalom anytime next week and other towns in the province will soon follow.

“The number of students who had applied for the educational assistance also vary per town,” Manlapaz said.

The educational assistance aims to help students with their expenses for their online classes, to buy books, and other needs.

“For those who have not yet received their assistance, we appeal for their kind understanding for it will be given as soon as possible,” she said. (PNA)
