Miss Universe Organization (MUO) President Raul Rocha released a video statement on Wednesday, November 4, addressing the recent issues involving Miss Universe Thailand National Director Nawat Itsaragrisil.

The controversy stems from an alleged incident where Nawat reportedly questioned Miss Mexico about her absence from a sponsor’s photo shoot. The contestant, who reportedly felt uncomfortable, chose to leave the room. Later reports stated that the Mexican beauty queen felt disrespected when Nawat allegedly called her “dumb” during the orientation.

In his statement, Rocha accused Nawat of causing the incident due to “his constant desire to be the center of attention.” The MUO president then announced that Nawat’s participation in the events of the 74th Miss Universe competition has been restricted.

The statement comes amid growing scrutiny and public discussion surrounding the leadership and conduct of national directors under the Miss Universe Organization.
