Governor Sol Aragones has pledged full support to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Laguna, emphasizing their key role in promoting local food tourism and nurturing grassroots talent.

Speaking Monday during her first flag-raising ceremony as provincial chief executive, Aragones highlighted a new initiative showcasing delicacies from each district during weekly gatherings at the provincial capitol. Employees and guests were treated to a spread of specialties from the province’s third district.

Under the program, each flag-raising ceremony will feature free delicacies from an assigned district, alongside performances and exhibitions highlighting local talents.

Among the delicacies presented from the towns and a city in the third district were: Putong Alsa and Sapin-sapin from Alaminos; Pitcho-pitcho and Budin Kamoteng Kahoy from Liliw; Nilo’s Taho, Virginia’s Bibingkang Kanin, and Almarie’s Ube Halaya from San Pablo City; Tikoy sa Tukil and Galang-galang from Nagcarlan; Homemade ice cream and Itlog na Maalat from Victoria; Pineapple bar, pineapple candies, and pineapple pie from Calauan; and Polvoron and Pitchi-pitchi from Rizal.

“We will continue to support our local delicacy producers in every town of Laguna,” Aragones said. “Through this, we aim to build a vibrant food tourism economy and uplift the talents of Lagunenses in every corner of the province.”

The governor added that the program is just one of many community-based initiatives promoting pride of place and local enterprise development during her term. (PNA)
