At just eight years old, Aleia Aielle Aguilar continues to make waves in the world of jiu-jitsu.

The young sensation, hailing from a family deeply rooted in the sport, showcased her skill and composure by defeating Sarah Abuhijleh of the United Arab Emirates, 3-0, to capture the Kids 2, Girls Gi, 22 kgs, A Class (grey belt division) crown at the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (AJP).

Aguilar’s journey to the final was marked by precision and dominance, including a semifinal victory over Maitha Almas of the UAE, whom she submitted via armbar.

This triumph marks Aguilar’s fourth title at the AJP World Championship, a premier event renowned in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community for featuring top athletes from around the globe.

Her father, Alvin Aguilar, the founding father of Filipino mixed martial arts, witnessed her latest success at the Madubala Arena.

Aguilar’s focus and discipline on the mat have been evident from the start, and her dedication continues to pay off. This year, she has maintained an undefeated streak, adding to her growing list of achievements.

Before her Abu Dhabi victory, Aguilar also claimed top honors at the IBJJF PAN Kids in Orlando, Florida, and the Marianas Open in Guam. She now holds world champion titles in both IBJJF and AJP competitions, cementing her reputation as one of the brightest young stars in international jiu-jitsu.
