Philippine-born athlete Sakura Alforte dominates the Under-21 Female Kata in the World Karate Federation following recent wins in international competitions.

The 20-year-old karateka proudly represented the Philippines in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia when she brought home the gold last May.

Prior to this, Alforte participated in her first youth league appearance for the Philippines in the Karate 1-Youth League A Corua 2023 held last April, where she placed first.

Completing her three consecutive wins, Alforte ruled the tenth Southeast Asian Karate Federation Championships 2023 held last March and secured her third gold medal of the year.

These impressive golden sweeps by Alforte brought the Philippines to the top of the game, as she became the World Number 1 in the World Karate Federation Under 21 rankings.

From September to October 2023, Alforte will once again represent the country along with the rest of Team Philippines in the Asian Games, which will be held in China.
