By using the KonMari method, Chevron employees learned how to de-clutter for better clarity, efficiency and productivity in both personal and professional lives.

The workshop and donations were part of Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) 2021 Volunteer Week. The activity called, Project Joy, taught Chevron employees the Konmari method, Marie Kondo’s minimalist approach to decluttering.

The volunteers were encouraged to let go of things that no longer spark joy in their lives but may be beneficial to others, particularly to disadvantaged families in Naic, Cavite.

CPI made the donations through Project Pearls which handed out the various household items to families in Brgy. Malainen, Bago, Naic, Cavite, a relocation site for families from Tondo, Manila.

Chevron Volunteer Week is an annual week-long volunteerism activity of CPI that bridges the gap between those who are willing to help and those who are willing to receive help.

“Volunteerism is a key value of Chevron. It helps keep us mentally and physically healthy by providing a sense of purpose. The de-cluttering workshop was beneficial to all of us, be it at work or at home. It is indeed very fortunate that our employees got to donate and help along the process. I can’t think of a better way to wrap up our 2021 Volunteer Week than with Project Joy,” shared Billy Liu, CPI country chairman and general manager.
