Several students from the Multimedia Arts (MMA) Program of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of New Media Arts showcased innovative projects of emerging creatives to address the personal and social issues experienced by Filipino children.

Nicole Ecalner, Veronica Landig, Devonna Quinatadcan, and Vann Quinatadcan launched Hearts on the Table, a physical card game which tackles generational trauma.

With three levels and a set of wildcards, it fosters candid dialogue and connection among the users. The deck is supported by an online site, motion graphics, and journals for reflection. It likewise encompasses the media’s impact on Gen Zs.

To educate on personal space, Zofia Camille exhibited an informative webpage Consent For Kids, which teaches the younger generation about body privacy. It likewise empowers the learners to establish their boundaries, respect the individuality of others, and cultivate meaningful relationships.

Consent For Kids also serves as a reliable digital guide on sensitive topics for parents and mentors. It comprises reflective and engaging vlogs, podcasts, and printed resources.

Alfred Alavar, Chloe Capistrano, Jamila San, Mary Velarde, and Nicus Villaluna presented The Kid In Me, an interactive book that delves into the feelings of the inner child. It unleashes the user’s imagination and ingenuity by taking them on a step-by-step journey towards self-development.

To enhance the reader’s experience, The Kid In Me uses augmented reality (AR) to highlight a cheerful tone, spark a sense of naive wonder, and encourage thinking outside the box.

Tara na sa P-pop, an instructional material which consists of a non-fictional short video series and website, was introduced by Janela Arena, Antonette Aquino, Cherie Lou Azaña, Guinevere Querijero, and Chad Samonte.

It provides information about the various aspects of the Philippine pop (P-pop) genre, including its resurgence in popularity, artistry, and fan communities. It likewise intends to enlighten the audience on how P-pop localizes foreign influences and their process of music creation, concepts, and lyricism.

Produced by Nichole Alcantara, John Lim, and Kaitlyn Menor, 2D role-playing platform TAHANAN unfolds in a traditional Filipino household. It portrays fundamental values such as respect for elders and hospitality, among others.

The narrative of TAHANAN explores the intricate interplay of these ethical principles and occasionally unveils their negative impacts. The initiative also includes an explanatory site that integrates the overall design and content.

Frances Queroda, Clia Lualhati, and Veana Medina also presented a storybook entitled Ang Kubo ni Lola. It aims to enhance the language skills of youngsters by revisiting Philippine history through storytelling and captivating visuals.

The viewers are invited to join the magical journey of a curious girl named Amara, who leads them towards interesting adventures into the depths of the country’s rich culture.
