StarPop artist JEL REY pictures meeting their beloved in a movie-like setting in his new single “Parapelikula.”

“Ito yung pakiramdam na parang tumigil yung mundo kapag nakilala mo yung taong mahal mo. Everything fell into place at tila nasa isang pelikula kayo at kayo ang mga bida,” JEL REY, short for John Lloyd Reyes, described the song.

He composed the track and produced it with StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos.

“Parapelikula” follows his slew of relatable tracks about love, such as “Bumabalik Pa Rin,” “Tayo (ating istorya),” “Nasa Alapaap ang Paraluman,” and “hele pono.”

In 2023, the budding singer-songwriter dropped his debut EP, “TERAPEWTIKA,” which earned more than 150,000 streams on Spotify. He also received a nomination for Best Performance by a New Solo Artist at the 37th Awit Awards.

JEL REY describes his writing style as adventurous, exploring various genres from rock, hip-hop, pop, and soul. He has also gone viral on TikTok by singing songs to random strangers and sharing his process of making music. His musical influences include Ed Sheeran, Rex Orange County, IV Of Spades, and Eraserheads.
