Prix Versailles Picks CRK One Of World’s Most Beautiful Airports

For its exceptional architecture and design, Clark International Airport (CRK) has been named as one of the 24 world’s most beautiful airports by the prestigious Prix Versailles, the World Architecture and Design Award at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

CRK is the only airport in Southeast Asia that made the list.

“It is an immense honor to be recognized as one of the world’s most beautiful airports and we are truly humbled by this. It also inspires us to keep on giving Filipinos what they truly deserve, a world-class airport,” Noel Manankil, president and chief operating officer of airport operator Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD), said in a statement.

According to the website prix-versailles.com, “the “World’s Most Beautiful” achievements recognition, granted by the Prix Versailles, highlights the primary role of the Laureates in beautifying and improving the living environment.”

Prix Versailles is a series of architectural competitions that shine a light on the finest contemporary projects worldwide.

Other airports in the list are Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Chile; Berlin Brandenburg Airport in Germany; Beijing Daxing International Airport, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, and Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport in China; Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport and Thessaloniki Macedonia International Airport in Greece; General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport in Mexico; Helsinki-Vantaa Airport in Finland; and Kempegowda International Airport in India.

Likewise making the cut are LaGuardia Airport, Eagle County Regional Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in the United States; Manchester Airport in the United Kingdom; Mohammed V International Airport in Morocco; New Plymouth Airport in New Zealand; Split Airport in Croatia; Turkistan International Airport in Turkistan and Van Don International Airport in Vietnam.
