Bicol University is set to release in March the guidelines that will be implemented for the possible face-to-face (F2F) graduation in July as coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases continue to decrease in the province.

In a radio interview on Monday, Bicol University (BU) president Dr. Arnulfo Mascariñas said one of the requirements stipulated in the guidelines is that the attendees must be fully vaccinated and compliant with the minimum public health standards.

“For the first time in the history of the university commencement exercises, baka an mga magurang dai makapagpartisipar duman sa graduation ceremonies. Kasi baga ever since pag graduation sa university pirming kairibanan an mga magurang (For the first time in the history of the university commencement exercises, the parents may not be able to attend graduation ceremonies),” he said.

Mascariñas said the university has been making some necessary adjustments during this time of the pandemic.

“But I think, with the pandemic, medyo we have to make some modification or pagbabago duman sa nakagawian na (But I think, with the pandemic, we have to make some modifications or changes to the usual practice),” he added.

The BU administration initially plans to hold a separate face-to-face graduation ceremony for each of its six campuses or college.

“We will be doing it [graduation ceremony] by campus or per college. So in other words, digdi sa kaso kan BUCAF may mga graduating students digdi an graduation digdi man sa BUCAF sa Polangui Campus duman man sa Polangui Campus (We will be doing it [graduation ceremony] by campus or per college. So in other words, in the case of BUCAF there are graduating students here so the graduation ceremony will also happen here same goes with Polangui Campus the graduation will happen in Polangui),” Mascariñas said.
