In recent years, Twitter has been more innovative and practical in improving its platform into a more interactive platform compared to its conventional beginnings decades back.

We’ve grown accustomed to interacting on Twitter through words and multimedia content before, but now it’s offering a lot more features that enable a more immersive communication between users on the platform.

Despite its continuous innovation in establishing a more convenient and reliable platform for its users, more individuals, particularly influencers, tend to switch to a platform that benefits them in terms of earning money. Well, being a social media influencer is indeed a great way to make money, especially if your content consistently attracts engagement.

This might be good news for content creators because you may now earn money with Twitter’s impending “Tweet Awards” feature, a new option that could earn you money.

Jane Manchun Wong, a well-known tech blogger legendary for uncovering new features of renowned companies before they are launched, disclosed through a post that Twitter is working on the “Tweet Awards” feature, a new monetization option on the platform.

Tweet Awards on Twitter are said to be similar to other platforms’ approaches of enabling creators in monetizing their content. It’s similar to TikTok’s live gifts during live broadcasts and other platforms that have the same feature, allowing fans and users to support the creator with rewards that can be converted into money.

Wong’s article included a feature that was not yet accessible on Twitter, hinting at what the Tweet award feature would look like. Besides Wong’s Twitter handle, there’s a pink microphone that seems to be the Super follow button, which Twitter launched last September as a paid monthly membership feature that allows you to support your favorite users on Twitter and gain access to super tweets.

Tweet Awards is also said to be identical to Twitter’s “Tip Jar” option, which allows you to add your usernames on Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, PayPal, and Venmo and enable people to tip you straight there.

Tip Jar has been launched as part of Twitter Spaces, a live audio conversation forum that has generated millions of interactions, group discussions, and so much more among its users worldwide.

Wong also tweeted about the Tip Jar feature two months before its official launch in May 2021.

There were speculations that Tweet Awards would be a feature that would allow someone’s viral tweet to be converted from a thousand likes to monetization. This notion occurred following Twitter’s annual “Twitter Award,” which has been given out annually since 2016 to recognize the most innovative Twitter advertising campaigns across seven distinct key categories.

Moreover, Twitter hasn’t released anything regarding the new feature, so nothing is guaranteed yet.

Wong is popular for reverse-engineering popular apps like Facebook and Instagram, enabling her to preview upgrades that are still in the development phase. She is also known as the “Woman Scooping Silicon Valley,” a worldwide hub for technological innovation headquartered in California’s South San Francisco Bay Area.

Are you looking forward to this new feature as well? Tweet Awards might be available very soon!
