RELX International, a leading electronic cigarettes company in the Philippines, welcomed the passage of the Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act or Republic Act No. 11900.

RA 11900 lapsed into law on Jul 25, 2022, and is the first comprehensive law to regulate the importation, manufacture, sale, packaging, distribution, use and communication of vapor and heated tobacco products.

“With this important legislation, the vapor product industry will be properly regulated, benefiting adult smokers looking to switch to better alternatives, while keeping the product out of the hands of underaged users,” said Sally Goh, General Manager, RELX International Philippines.

Under the new law, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is given the authority to regulate the vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine products and their devices and novel tobacco products being sold online or in physical outlets.

As a responsible member of the vapor product industry, RELX International is committed to working hand-in-hand with the regulators to comply with the new implementing rules and regulations, expected to be developed by the DTI in the coming weeks.
