With the assistance of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and its Kadiwa truck, the Itbayat Garlic Producers Association from Batanes delivered 600 kilograms of garlic to the DA Kadiwa Center in Quezon City last Sept. 14.

The DA-Regional Field Office (RFO) in Cagayan Valley assisted the Itbayat farmers in transporting their products from the Sual Port in Pangasinan to Metro Manila.

On the following day, the institutional buyers picked up the PHP78,000 worth of garlic they ordered through the DA-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS).

The DA-AMAS also assisted different farmers’ cooperatives and associations for the delivery of 691.95 kilograms of garlic amounting to PHP72,786 from February to July 2022.

The Itbayat Garlic Producers Association of Itbayat, Batanes is a recipient of Enhanced Kadiwa Financial Grant (trading/working capital) amounting to PHP500,000 in the last quarter of 2021.

For interested producers’ group, buyers, and partners, DA-AMAS offers market information, market linkage and product promotion, agribusiness promotion and agribusiness development services.
