The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said starting Aug. 28, it would follow a new format in announcing its monetary policy decisions.

In an advisory on Wednesday, the BSP said that under the new format, it would issue a statement on its monetary policy stance via its website and official X account (formerly Twitter) at 2:30 p.m.

At 3 p.m., a press conference on the monetary policy decision will be livestreamed via the BSP’s official Facebook page.

It will begin with the BSP governor’s remarks on the monetary policy decision and will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the media.

“This is part of the BSP’s efforts to further strengthen transparency and public appreciation of monetary policy actions,” the central bank said.

Under the previous format, the BSP announced the Monetary Board’s policy decision during a 3 p.m. press conference. (PNA)
