Established amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Benilde Senior High School (SHS) will soon conduct Blended Learning with Hybrid Component classes, a combination of online and in-person sessions, for the first term of School Year 2022 to 2023.
Initially administered for a term under an Arts and Design Strand section, the new modality will also be applicable to all other Benilde SHS strands, to include Accountancy and Business Management, General Academic Strand, and TVL-Culinary.
Under the new system, all sections are divided into two: physical and virtual classes. To ensure that no one gets left behind, classes will have traditional classroom set-ups synchronously conducted alongside the virtual sessions hosted through Zoom or Google Classrooms.
The Taft Campus of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde are equipped with full camera and audio set-ups that allow the learners at home to attend the lectures live and participate in the discussions, recitations, and activities within the physical classrooms, facilities, laboratories, and workshops of the school.
On Fridays, Benilde SHS continues to implement independent study sessions to provide the learners a whole day to define and accomplish their performance tasks on their own.
The institution likewise implements standard health guidelines such as social distancing and usage of face masks at all times.
The senior high school has stated that participation in physical classes will be based on the mandate of the Department of Education. Students who wish to attend must present an accomplished Benilde Undertaking Form and a scanned or digital copy of their COVID-19 vaccination record.
Those who are immunocompromised, with comorbidities, or part of the Most-at-Risk Population (MARP) are encouraged to coordinate with the Benilde Center for Health and Medical Services.
