A Makati resident recently took to social media to commend the city’s public hospital, Makati Life Medical Center, for delivering high-quality healthcare while keeping costs remarkably affordable through the city’s Yellow Card program.

User @ynaeduarte described her positive experience, calling Makati Life “probably the best project of Makati City for its residents.” She shared that under the Yellow Card scheme, patients pay only ₱500 as a “donation” for hospital bills exceeding ₱5,000, while treatments costing less are covered entirely.

“We had a huge bill of ₱390,000 and only paid ₱500. Last time it was ₱90,000, also ₱500,” she wrote, adding that the program “tinalo ang private HMO,” or surpasses private health insurance in terms of coverage.

Her post has since gained attention online, with many praising the city government’s commitment to accessible healthcare for all residents. The Makati Life Medical Center, a joint venture between the Makati City Government and private partners, aims to provide comprehensive medical services to cardholders at minimal cost.

As the post concluded: “PAGMAMAHAL SA MAKATI. Kidding aside, ang galing galing.”
