Gabby Concepcion shared his memorable moment of reuniting with her daughter, KC Concepcion, after 15 years through his YouTube channel.
The actor recently uploaded a vlog with his daughter, which featured a mini-interview with KC composed of random questions about their personal lives and memories together.
They both reminisced about the time when they hadn’t seen each other for over 15 years.
Gabby shared that he had his life and was working in the United States at that time when all of a sudden he received an unknown phone call, which was revealed to be from KC.
“Pagsagot ko nung telepono, may nagsabing ‘Hi, can I speak to Gabby Concepcion, please?’ I said ‘Hi, is this my baby?’ I knew it was you on the phone. I knew it,” he said.
KC then revealed that she was also hesitant at that time as she had not been able to hear her father’s voice for almost 15 years.
With their short encounter over the phone, Gabby knew then that his daughter would find him someday. “Kasi it was at the back of my head, sinasabi ko lang sa sarili ko na, one day hahanapin ako nito, one day tatawag ito, I don’t know when, but one day,” he continued.
KC recalled that she was waiting for her bus to go to school when she called her dad. “Nag-cut class ako that day because nag-usap tayo for the first time; it was the first time we reconnected; it was such a memorable moment for me that I had to miss class,” she said.
The actress remembered becoming emotional in a public place because she couldn’t believe that she was able to finally hear her father’s voice.
KC revealed that the bond and relationship that they have right now are even better than when they started to reconnect with each other.
“You’re very involved and present in my life in my adult years so you really made up for all the time we didn’t get to spend together. Parang it’s even better now,” she said.
Their heartfelt vlog together made the netizens and other artists burst into tears as they also reminisced about their moments with their dads.
“This will always be one of my favorite stories,” Filipino singer Moira dela Torre commented.
Gab and KC are a reminder that the bond and love between a parent and a child will not grow stronger as time passes, and there will always be a time that will make the relationship stronger.
