Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea on Monday declared the celebration open, with a host of activities including the Cookfest, participated in by all barangays, and the inauguration of the Display Center beside the Municipal Tourism Office.

The cookfest features menus with coconut milk as base ingredient.

Mea sampled some of the dishes, among which was seafood cooked in coconut milk.

In the Display Center, local products locally made by the group KMEAksyon (Kababaihan kay Mea) are being sold, including aromatic candles dubbed as “Simoy ng Tagumpay”.

Mea told the media that they are expecting the presence of Efren “Bata” Reyes and Django Bustamante at the billiard tournament on June 24 at Reggie’s Bar in the town proper.

“I want to give Tiaongins the basic services including livelihood assistance for the women sector,” the mayor said.
