The city government here on Thursday resumed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) inoculation for children aged 5 to 11 in various shopping malls.

In its announcement, the Emergency Operations Center Task Force (EOC-TF) said it has again set up vaccination sites at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, SM City Bacolod, and Robinsons Place Bacolod for minors until March 12.

“Bring your kids to where they got their first dose,” the EOC-TF said.

A maximum of 100 children getting the initial dose are being accommodated in each of the three venues.

Those who availed of the first dose at the Riverside College campus can also get their second dose at Ayala Malls Capitol Central or Robinsons Place Bacolod.

Also, second doses are available for students of St. John’s Institute on March 10 and 11, and those enrolled at STI-Western Negros University on March 11 and 12.

Last February 24, the EOC-TF suspended the vaccination for 5 to 11 years old due to a limited supply of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.

According to the Department of Health, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is recommended for active immunization for the prevention of Covid-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 in individuals 5 years and older, based on the emergency use authorization issued by the Food and Drug Administration.

As of March 9, Bacolod has vaccinated some 5,180 minors in the 5 to 11 age group, data of the Department of Health-Western Visayas showed. (PNA)
