OCD Lauds Active Public Participation In Q1 Quake Drill

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has expressed its thanks to the public for its active participation in this year’s First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) which was held virtually Thursday.

“Maraming salamat sa inyong pagdalo sa ating First Quarter Online Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)! Sa pagtatapos ng programa, nakapagtala ang Facebook livestream ng NSED ng 35,000 peak concurrent viewers at 195,000 total views (Thank you so much for attending our First Quarter NSED (this year). With the ending of the program our Facebook livestream of NSED gathered 35,000 peak concurrent viewers and 195,000 total views),” the OCD said in its Facebook Page.

In line with this, the agency urged the public to continue participating in exercises and drills that aim to protect them from dangers caused by various calamities.

“Patuloy ang panawagan sa lahat na laging makiisa sa mga gawaing naglalayong paigtingin ang kaligtasan ng sambayanan mula sa banta ng mga panganib at sakuna (We are calling on everyone to participate in activities that would enhance the safety of the public from the dangers caused by various calamities),” the OCD statement read.

The NSED for the first and second quarters of 2021 was held on March 11 and June 10, respectively.

The third quarter national earthquake drill for 2021 was conducted on September 16 while the fourth quarter drill was held on November 11. (PNA)
