The city government here will roll out the administration of booster shots to curb the rising Covid-19 cases in the province, provincial health officer Dr. Zenon Ponce said on Monday.

Ponce said the rollout of the booster shots will be held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center on January 11 and 12 with personnel of the government agencies scheduled in the morning and walk-ins in the afternoon.

He said recipients should present their issued vaccination cards showing they were fully inoculated at least three months ago.

“Paalala ko sa kanila na magdala ng photocopy of the vaccination card and valid ID. Dapat ay three months mula ng second dose nila. However, if Janssen yung primary dose nila, two months lang ay pwede na sila ma-booster (I am reminding them to bring the photocopy of the vaccination card and valid ID. It must be three months since their second dose. However, if Janssen is their primary dose, they can have booster shot two months after they got vaccinated),” Ponce said.

On Jan. 13 to 14, he said there will be another vaccination rollout at the Robinsons Starmills for the first dose, second dose, and booster shot.

He also reminded residents to strictly observe the minimum health standards at the vaccination sites.

The provincial government on Jan. 7 started the administration of booster shots via drive-thru at isolation facilities in the province.

“Ito ay mas convenient lalo na sa mga nagta-trabaho (This is more convenient especially to those who are working),” said Dr. Dax Tidula, incident commander of the Pampanga Covid-19 facilities.

Pampanga is one of the areas in Central Luzon that was placed under Alert Level 3 until Jan. 15.

As of Jan. 8, the province’s total Covid-19 caseload is 63,128, including 1,269 active cases. Some 59,073 have already recovered while 2,786 died after contracting the virus. (PNA)
